I hold a PhD in Computer Science and Semantic Web since December 2015 by the University of Murcia (UM), and an Ms degree and Bs degree in Computer Engineering by the same university in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Currently, I play the role of postdoctoral scientists in  Spanish national research project, leaded by Dr. Jesualdo Tomás Fernández Breis, where we work on the achievement of the interoperability of Electronic Health Record and Clinical Decision Support systems using Semantic Web technologies. Moreover, I am a part-time Assistant Professor at the University Miguel Hernández of Elche (UMH).

In particular, my main research interests are the development of computational methods in the area of Ontology Engineering and its application in large biomedical ontologies like Gene Ontology or Snomed-CT. In this line, the main topic of my PhD fellowship was Ontology Enrichment, whose dissertation title was “Methodology for the enrichment of biomedical knowledge resources“. I acknowledge the supervision of Dr. Jesualdo Tomás Fernandez Breis and Dr. Robert Stevens (University of Manchester) by their supportive work and comments.

I have done three research stays in different research groups around Europe such as the Univeristy of Manchester, the Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse and the Linköping University. I have published several papers in International conferences and JCR journals. In the latest years, I have taken part in several research projects in the field of Semantic Web. Previously, I did some research in Parallel Computing applied to Bayesian statistics as a result of my Bs and Ms final projects.

I have taught different subjects such as Multimedia Applications (3rd Bsc on Computer Sciences and Information Technology at UMH), Bioinformatics (2nd Bsc on Biotechnology at UM) or Sofware Development ProcessesAlgorithms and Data Structures I and Object Orienting Programming (3rd, 2nd and 2nd Bsc on Computer Engineering and UM).
